YMCAs have played a significant role in the history of sports in America. YMCAs invented basketball, volleyball and racquetball. The Cook County Y offers many year round fitness and sport programs and leagues including volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, competitive swimming, and more.

The focus of the Y gymnastics program is to create a fun environment for gaining balance, coordination, and flexibility while introducing children to the basic elements of the sport. We use beam, bars, floor, and tumble track exercises to teach basic gymnastic positions and tumbling skills.
The Y provides Pick up Basketball every Wednesday night! Open Gym times are available every day for members to practice their shots or play a game with their friends.
A Co-ed Volleyball League is offered Monday evenings in Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions. Teams must be preformed and players must be at least 16 years of age.
Youth Soccer
The Y youth soccer program is designed to meet each player at their current level of play and provide opportunities to increase their individual skills. The goal is that these opportunities lead to an overall enjoyment of the game through practice and games.
