The pool is a great place to have fun and exercise, but the most important thing at the Y is your safety.  Our staff is certified by the American Red Cross and receives frequent training.  Please observe the pool area policies to ensure a great experience for you and those around you!

Our pool is staffed with Red Cross certified lifeguards.

  • Obey the lifeguard(s) on duty.
  • Children ages 7+ can use the pool independently unless determined to be unsafe in their swimming or behavior. Children 6 and younger must have a parent or guardian in the pool area and non-swimmers must have a parent in the water and within arms reach.
  • Swimmers ages 7-8 must have a responsible party in the building even though they don’t have to be in the pool with them.
  • Please wear a properly fitting swim suit. Cotton clothing is not allowed. Swim diapers must be worn under a swimsuit by children under the age of three and by those who are not potty-trained.
  • Use family friendly language and conversation.
  • Showering before entering the pool keeps the pool clean.
  • Practice safe play in the pool area by keeping your hands to yourself.
  • Help prevent the spread of germs by keeping pool toys and noodles out of your mouth.
  • Be respectful of others by cleaning up after yourself.
  • Use of electronics in the pool area is not recommended.
  • Jump or dive straight in. Twisting and somersaulting is unsafe. Diving is only allowed from the starting block end of the pool.
  • Kickboards, pull buoys, jog belts, fins and other aerobic equipment are for class and responsible lap swim only.
  • Swimmers must pass a safety test and have a corresponding wristband to swim in certain areas of the pool.
  • Help keep our water clean by using YMCA lifejackets. Lifejackets must be coast guard approved.
  • Inflatable devices such as water wings, are not allowed.
  • The hot tub is open to those 13 years and older.
  • The sauna is for ages 16 and older. Ages 15 and younger are not permitted in the sauna.
  • Respect the personal space of others.
  • After taking a hot tub or sauna, one must take a shower before entering other pools.
  • Refrain from using soaps, oils and shampoos in the pool area.
  • Refrain from submerging past your shoulders in the hot tub.
  • Limit your time in the hot tub to 10 minutes. Hot tub use is a high risk activity, especially if you have certain medical conditions. Consult your doctor if you have questions.
  • Swimmers must wear appropriate swimwear (no jeans or cut-offs or thong bottoms. Swimsuits only). The Y asks all members to remember the family environment and choose the style of your swimsuit accordingly.

  • You must either past the deep end test or be 48″ tall to use the slide.
  • Wait at the bottom of the stairs until the person ahead of you exits the slide.
  • Go down feet first on your back.
  • Keep your arms and feet inside of the slide
  • Lifejackets and flotation devices are not permitted on the slide.
